Silva told France Football : “If Haaland wins the Premier League and Champions League, you can include him in the Ballon d’Or debate. The same goes for Vinicius Junior in case Real Madrid wins the Champions League. All in all, it’s a rivalry between Messi and the Champions League winner. But for now, I’ll give it to Messi”.

The Man City midfielder also said of Cristiano Ronaldo: “I was with the team two or three times when Ronaldo won the Ballon d’Or. We always congratulate him. But when he didn’t win, he was unhappy and said: ‘I think I deserve better’. Ronaldo is a top player who always wants to be above all”.
